The shape of the vase is inspired by womanly curves and the female form. I cut holes into the side of the vessel and threaded ribbons through in the same way as corset lacing. I want to mix ceramics with textiles for a contemporary take on the corset. I looked at corsets from the 1800s and the cross sections and dress patterns used to make them. This lead me to design the print to decorate the inner and outer surface of the vase.
