I am a very practical person and I find I rarely design products which do not have a function.
I usually start from a very basic and broad observation such as 'emptying ones pockets'. By researching and documenting the behaviour which is undertaken during this process, I can gain a good idea of the specifications that a product which fulfills this need requires.
I find the best source of research is discussing all stages of the design process with as many people as possible. It pushes existing ideas into new directions and sometimes can spark off a whole new concept.

Despite finding function important I do believe that a truly successful design must be sensitive to aesthetics, quality and function.
I am both inspired and influenced by iconic designs such as the Charles and Ray Eames Lounge chair and Ottoman. My passion is for creating furniture which will grow with you and become a part of your life.
